There’s so much to love about this place. From the laid back vibe to the tasty food, to the unique architecture. Absolutely fell in love with Barcelona within the few days we were there. Oh, I made a little video about our trip last summer. Take a look at some of the stuff we got up to:
- First off, you can spend the whole day walking around La Rambla. It’s a really long steet in central Barcelona lined with restaurants, stores, souvenir stalls, and places like Mercat de la Boqueria (definitely a must visit, click for the post). On two of the days we were there we just walked here to do a bit of shopping, visited the market, and watched the Flamenco performance. If you walk down far enough you’ll hit Rambla del Mar and Port de Barcelona where you can grab a hotdog & churros and just relax, like what we did.
I love that they still include siestas in their daily schedule (which is basically a mid-day nap for those that don’t know). When we arrived in Barcelona at 2pm and all the stores and shops were closed for this reason…Filipinos have this too but it isn’t a norm anymore. I think the whole world should follow this routine…
Sooo I’ve heard the nightlife in Barcelona is really good but I barely got a taste of it (sadly). So not much to write over here… We ate at a really good place called MasQMenos and had some wine and cake late one night. Oh! and we somehow ended up in a really sktechy pub/club called “nevermind”. don’t go there lol
3. Lastly, LA COMIDA. THE FOOD. There’s a restaurant called Aitor which is a must-try for local cuisine. They have DELICIOUS food, friendly staff, reasonable prices, and the location is perfecto aka half a block away from Sagrada Familia. We ate there twice and couldn’t get enough of it. The owner was nice enough to give us a free round of hazelnut tasting shots (kind of strange but turned out to be really good)
MUST TRY: Tapas YUM
OF COURSE, YOU GOTTA HAVE PAELLA. I tried Paella Negra for the first time and it was really good too!
CHURROS CON CHOCOLATE IS HEAVEN IN THE FORM OF SPANISH FOOD
Honestly, it would be hard not to love Barcelona. I’m coming back here the first chance I get. Here are a couple more shots:
